@BeAware I say this with all the care in the world, but don’t take it personally. Most humans go for what’s comfortable. Hell, most humans are really dumb You’re a caring person. This stress about fedi vs other platforms won’t do you any good in the long term. Keep talking, just don’t obsess over it cause you’ll be the one with the headache!

i wish i didn't hate people as much as i do
but seems "being a jaded asshole with zero faith in people" is my default.

Like, I get why people have an issue with AI, but what would me not using it for fun do? Nothing. It would still exist and millions of other people and companies would still use it.

That hate would be better directed towards the multi-billion dollar corporations that make it and profit off of it. I'm just some guy on disability using it for fun.

@BeAware I didn’t know you were talking about AI but now I’ve seen your precious posts. Honestly I’m also very upset why people are using AI to generate Studio Ghiblis styled pics. Everyone knows the position of the studio about AI so I feel it’s a bit disrespectful. Of course you should be able to have fun, not saying you shouldn’t, but please empathize with the other side. Creators are being ripped off.

@ritacarm mine are specifically not ghibli style for that reason. They are based on another animator's style, but like i said, me doing it has no effect on if it exists. I use it because it exists, not the other way around.‍️

I do empathize with them. I, however, cannot change it and don't deserve to get hate for having some fun. They can just scroll past. I'm not selling it or profiting in any way and am just making silly pics cause I don't have the funds as a disabled man to pay an actual artist for something I just wanna giggle at.

@BeAware maybe those that criticize it consider that you’re advertising for something they find wrong. You can have fun with it but don’t share it, right? I like to look at things both ways. As a former illustrator and designer, I feel sad that people are sharing stolen art. I’m not insulting them, but makes me sad. Human beings are so creative, we can use AI for mundane tasks but art? Art is from the heart 🫶
