... Apparently historically there is very little difference between Gladiators in the Roman Colosium and a WWE wrestler. Down to merch and sponsorship deals.

@BeAware 100% but I also think there being so many options if why you don't see as much talk about it.
I'd love to watch more but I only really have time for TNA, MLPW, and MLW.
So I don't have much to offer to talks around AEW, WWE, NJPW, AAA, CMLL, NWA, NOAH, etc.
Great time to be a fan but only so many hours in the day.

I am normally pretty busy so even finding time for what I do watch is a bit of a challenge. MLW and MLPW being infrequent helps.
But I have found that it's made talking about wrestling more difficult. I have other friends that watch but few of us watch the same shows.

@Tweakedenigma I definitely feel that. It's the main reason I went back to corporate social media. At least there's people to talk with about it.
Was hoping that we'd get cross-platform communication at some point with either Threads or Bluesky but I've been waiting 2 years and it doesn't feel any closer.

@CWSmith facts. WWE prices these days are actually insane though. I paid less than half the price for those AEW tickets, got front row, and had a MUCH better experience.
Though I feel all entertainment is getting quite pricey these days.

@BeAware @Tweakedenigma To be honest I was expecting more tech talk on the fediverse. Things like vps, dedicated servers, docker, etc. Instead I just see lots of spam about news and politics. I may need to start following specific instances to get my content idk. -

@FrenzyBiscuit that's what I see most of the time and just tune out. I don't need other people to tell me how shitty real life is right now.
