Why is Conan O'Brien such a shitty therapist?

Just finished If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but didn’t get why Conan sucked so much. Especially in the end

Yeah, she had a lot of shit. But I couldn’t imagine seeing somebody in that state and ignoring everything.
Edit: I also felt that moment when she said mentioned she was afraid she killed the wrong kid was incredibly powerful. Seemed like something the therapist should dive into rather than brushing her off.
Yeah, it was almost 20 years ago.
I’d have a kid in college by now if I hadn’t done that.
Maybe I got rid of the wrong one.

He was pretty tuned out. You have to remember it's an intentional part of the character to emphasize how little support she had.
