Kinda hate how I have to triple think about what I post here and most of the time I decide it's not worth it and don't post.

Most of the time I either get no interaction, people trying to debate me on a post that I just made to be funny, or just straight up hate.
Fedi is not what it used to be.

@BeAware I wish there was more diversity here. I know people will chime in and argue that there is, but… subjectivity, there isn’t.
I love being able to come here and read about current events and such, but sometimes, it would be nice to have a casual conversation as well. About anything. Just… boring stuff.

@sandwich yeah...my issue is similar, but these days I haven't been doing much outside of watching pro wrestling and attending events. There's virtually no pro wrestling discussion here.
In the 3 months that I've been on Threads, I've already gotten 700+ followers that all mostly talk pro wrestling. Also, since they're not as hostile to AI, I've managed to get about 500k views on my posts over those 3 months.
I've gotten a few hate replies, but it's nothing like if I post AI stuff here.
Also, people were complaining about Meta's lack of moderation but from my experience, every time I see hate or vitriol from someone, even if its not moderated, it's severely called out and shat on by the wider community.
It really feels like a corporate Fedi over there, but more diverse and less close minded people.
Sorry, slight rant.

@SpaceLifeForm every time I post AI stuff here, I get hate comments. People are said to be more kind to disabled people here, but I'm disabled in a way that I could never learn to draw like someone else could, so I use AI to realize my creativity.
That doesn't matter to most people. They just see AI and go into full rage mode.
You've always been kind to me and I appreciate you.

@BeAware You're free the moment you wish to be, so go ahead and stop wearing your chains on the inside? Why do you care if the haters are going to hate or if something is misinterpreted?
Have the fun you want to have and push what other people say so far out of your mind that it cannot touch you.

@PatrickoftheG it wouldn't be so difficult if it weren't directly in my notifications. It just makes me feel bad.

@BeAware If you want to post your AI pictures just go ahead. The people who will hate it will hate it and the people who love it will love it and most people just won't care.
LLM art is a kind of theft and bad, but you're being lectured by people who are three quarters into every other kind of problematic capitalism there is and probably get on airplanes and do international vacations that burn up more fuel than your queries ever will down at the local data center.

@BeAware I don't know the notification struggle though. What makes this place different from there in terms of what you see and have to react to?

@PatrickoftheG there's WAY less of the hate replies there in my experience. Especially considering I get thousands of interactions a day there and comparitively only get 1 or 2 hate comments every few days.
When I posted here consistently, it was more like 1-2 hate comments or more per day. It was wild.
I'll probably start trying again.

Yes, exactly!!! There doesn’t seem to be any tolerance whatsoever for that kind of nonsense. And I agree; there’s a much more broad scope of discussions there.
Maybe I should re-open my account…

@sandwich up to you, I'm just sharing my positive experience. You do have to get used to the algorithm, but I think I've figured it out. You have to talk about the same things you interact with. Which is why I talk about mostly exclusively pro wrestling stuff there and post AI related content.

@BeAware @sandwich I agree that it would be cool if there were more pro-wrestling discussion.
However, I find it harder to discuss wrestling here than on other tools or platforms. It's hard to express how you feel about a great heel or something that happens, as Fedi is so much more positive.
I know that's limited to my own experiences, mind you.

@SwiftVoltas @sandwich yeah...here's just so little of it here for me. I love me some heels!
Becky!

@SwiftVoltas @sandwich it would!
In the meantime, I have found a great community over on threads while I'm waiting for them to finally pull the trigger on full federation. It's just taking them so damn long.

@SwiftVoltas @sandwich same! Not only WWE either, I watch TNA and AEW as well. Wrestling is good all around right now!

@BeAware @SpaceLifeForm without judging the merits or morality of your art, getting excoriated after exhibiting your art in public has pretty much been the one constant in the history of art. So you're in good company.

@dashlion @SpaceLifeForm thanks. Ill just have to keep a no tolerance policy with the block button.
