Knight made the donation Oct. 22 to the Bring Balance to Salem PAC, which has aimed to elect Republicans to the Oregon Legislature, campaign finance records show.

Disappointing but its not quite as bad supporting trump or GOP at the federal level in congress.

Supporting a deliberately vanilla-named PAC (which themselves were only created to obscure campaign financing) to try to elect more local people who would implement dystopia of the federal fascist takeover and destruction of democracy at greater speed is hardly a hair worth splitting.

I'm very blue in a deeply red state. I completely understand the frustration of being politically ignored and having no meaningful representation in my state because of the red super-majority our our state legislature and governorship. If I had Knight's money I'd be doing the exact thing he is with support for local blue candidates. So I disagree with Knight's politics, but understand his actions at the state level. Again, I'm not excusing it, but there is a very real difference than writing trump or congress a check to help them stay in office.

What an odd take to have. Nobody asked about equivalence but here you are lubing up the Overton window anyway. Qualifying and accepting the smaller failures of democracy that make the big huge failures inevitable. Exactly how we got the current federal regime.

And you don't even live here. You live in a "deeply red state". This is the blue Willamette Valley. Maybe there's reason in political discourse as to why our two maps look so different in hue. Go justify and normalize your own local political failures if that's the conversation you like to have.

As much pleasure as I see you take with your vitriol, you may want to take a look at the community rules in the sidebar.

I don't take pleasure in diverting your frustrating complicity and there's no rule against pointing out that your particular local politics do not equate to Oregon's. Seems you at least respect my point as you've restricted your reply to ad hominem and false appeal to rules, so uh thanks for listening.

You've got your own narrative of both me and our conversation that is entirely divorced from reality. You're looking for enemies, and even if you don't find them you are manufacturing them in others for your arguments. I've never attacked you, but that didn't stop you from doing that to me. I can't imagine this is the first time you've done this, so I can only imagine you've snap at hands offering you support elsewhere too. If in the days ahead you find yourself isolated. This may be why.

Again, you see whatever fits your narrative.

Good luck, I won't be replying to anything else from you on this so feel free to frame your closing remarks to whatever your narrative requires.
