I guess forcing his way into our government and using a gaggle of 23 year old chuds straight from the casting call for "The Cornell 7" to gut our government and cripple our administrative state wasn't scandalous enough?

I dont think there is a single Republican convention that has press present that would unironically play Hitler speeches. Behind closed doors, in the boys clubs, almost certainly. But they are still playing with dog whistles most of the time and pushing parallel policies mostly under the guise of sensibility, not actual out and out racism (normally). Many of their electorate are fully masks off more. The politicians aren't so stupid as to go fully mask off while they rely on independents for elections.
On the main stage that's getting recorded, for sure. I saw some wild stuff on screen in breakout sessions during my convention AV days...people think they can get away with anything and for the most part, they were right.
