      @losttourist

      Oh... I've got a long list.

      We say aluminium because that's the correct spelling and pronunciation... they say aluminum and fuck knows why.

      All cookies are biscuits, but not all biscuits are cookies.

      CRISPS... not fucking chips.

      They say 'erbs' we say Herbs... because there's a FUCKING H IN IT.

      Divided by a common language... no... they do NOT speak English, they speak American and if we're going to call it English, then this is the most appropriate way to label it.

      I also have one for Canada and Australia... but they get the joke.

        @Anomnomnomaly @losttourist Apparently aluminum is Noah Webster's fault. They called it aluminium before him.

            @KaraLG84 @Anomnomnomaly @losttourist Webster is the one who's responsible for creating what's often called "simplified English". But I don't think he's responsible for the almost complete lack of use of adverbs in American English. Nor is he responsible for telling them to wear their pants over their shorts and their vests over their shirts. 😄
