@beaware.social @threads It's an empty promise. they were cashing in 2 ways. 1) everyone at the time of musk imploding twitter starting hearing bout mastadon and the feidverse. so "Oh look we'll be able to talk to all those folks and all our folks (in metaverse for lack of a better expression)". 2) telling all the people dabbling in the fedi or anywhere else...."hey come here and get a bit more curated and moderated experience....you can still talk to everyone!"

I love the Fediverse and want people to be here. However, I have to come to the realization. That my topics just aren't discussed here because there's not enough demographic variety.

Having Threads be fully connected would completely fix that issue for me and I could live here permanently again. That's exactly what they don't want.

@BeAware totally, they want you there not outside getting the feed. it makes them no money that way. That said ideally they'd finish what they promised so one could do that. Honestly most of their userbase would just stay put anyway.

@ppb1701 exactly. I don't know why they're worried. Unless they're making BANK off my cookies, they ain't making much from me cause I barely use IG and every time I see an ad on threads I hit "not interested".

I've seen maybe 10-15 ads total on Threads since I joined in February. Not exactly bank rolling them there.
