had to post about @ErikUden reporting from the #YourPartyConference because of the bad takes am seeing people repost from big media, like this:

      Link Preview Image
Your Party conference thrown into chaos as Zarah Sultana boycotts first day

Sultana skips Saturday’s proceeding in solidarity with delegates expelled over links to other parties

      favicon

      the Guardian (www.theguardian.com)

      🗣IT’S A FOUNDING CONFERENCE

of course there will be people at odds with each other. it’s a fucking PARLIAMENTARY political party. have you’ve see the screaming matches in the UK parliament?

be suspect of any oligarchic media selling #YourParty as a circus. UK parliamentary politics are their own political culture. /🧵

@blogdiva nah, it is a complete fucking circus, and has been from the very start. They can't decide if there's one leader or two, they welcomed transphobes into the party and then had to painfully remove them, there's already been a financial scandal...

The real force for good on the left are the Greens; "Your Party" are a messy distraction from that.

@Tattie @blogdiva what have the greens achieved in the last 35 years of their existence? The actual decision was between a collective leadership and a singular leader, not one or two leaders. Founding a new party is hard, especially a socialist one. I'm absolutely certain the Greens in the UK will fail and abandon their ideals like they have in every other European country. I don't think it's where the left needs to organize, unless they want austerity politics and a leader who thinks he can hypnotize people to increase their boob sizes.
