Signs a contract, fails to deliver on said contract. Throws an embarrassing tantrum in front of the whole world when the client starts looking somewhere else.

It's surprising how SpaceX and Tesla have managed to do so well despite this child at the helm. Whoever is in charge of keeping him distracted and away from the company's operations deserves a raise.

For Spacex, her name is Gwynne Shotwell. She is president and COO of SpaceX. She's incredibly smart and savvy in business. She's pragmatic and levelheaded. She's everything Elon isn't. I don't know what bargain she has with him that Elon largely lets her run the company, but if you're looking for why SpaceX is successful as it is, its her.

Tesla had first-mover-advantage in EVs, and the entrenched interests of petroleum companies and their pals in the US automotive sector making subpar cars for decades allowing Tesla to establish early with an alternative. Tesla, on the other hand, doesn't have a Shotwell at the helm, and you can see what disastrous business decisions have happened over there.
