A number of communities use scheduled threads to help get discussion started, and I thought this community could benefit from something like that. It reduces the pressure on individual users to be the first one to post a discussion post, since this community is mostly news/research articles.

It could be to chat about how things are going professionally, to share stories from that week, to discuss a piece of news/research in depth, etc.

If this sounds good to you, how often should the threads be scheduled? Any other considerations?

Sounds good to me! Some potential items:

        1. Grand rounds with education/specialists.
        2. Legal/political discussion.
        3. Physician well-being.
        4. Leadership tips.
        5. Financial advice.

We could do biweekly? Is that too much?

I think this is a good idea. I'm not sure what time interval to use (ie weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)

I think biweekly should work, we can always adjust later if it's too much or too infrequent.

Did you want to have specific topic threads each time, or were you thinking of listing those as prompts in the post? Both are possible with the scheduling tool

Nice šŸ™‚ Dadifer@lemmy.world suggested biweekly, and we can adjust later if we feel it's too much/little at that point
