This truly sucks. For parents with children with these life-saving needs that might be affected by this in the days to come, here's an idea for a workaround: has announced it will no longer prescribe life-saving puberty blockers and hormones to trans minors at its pediatric gender clinic, unless they are an existing patient already on these regimens. Go to a doctor out of the city, out of the state, or even out of the country if you need to and go to a doctor there that would get them on the initial regime. At that point Lurie Children’s Hospital rules would apply that they would be "an existing patient already on these regimens".
