I was thinking about this just the other day. I used to buy Amazon ebooks. I think I've spent probably around $200 on ebooks in 2025. I've been successful it not buying a single one of them from Amazon. Amazon trying to take away USB uploading of files to Kindle was the push I needed to "fix" that for my device, now I can get ebooks from anywhere and upload them via USB.
