Since much conversation/innuendo in the Fediverse involves references to Tolkien in one form or another, AND since HBO has been re-running different #LordOfTheRings movies, I took it upon myself to binge, if I could, in proper order, only to discover there is no such thing exactly. The films weren't issued to match the order of the books and just sorting out the movies alone took some doing.
I made a checklist, saw "Lord of the Rings" and so checked that off...and days later discover there's another one but subtitled "Two Towers". I've been thwarted at every turn.
I didn't suddenly become a Tolkien fan--that seems to be a male thing by and large--but at the conclusion of this exercise, I should at least have a grasp of who's who and what's what. Outside of that it's travels to point B from point A, encounters with this species or that, and battles...none of which is exceptional from the Marvelverse formulae. The first time, and likely the last time, I actually enjoyed this formula was when I read "Idylls of the King" by Lord Tennyson....which, under current circumstances, I am highly unlikely to re-read.

Sandwiched by the various Tolkien movies was the showing of the animated "Addams Family" movie, and yes, in a certain fashion these things are connected. I was delighted by Sam of the former because that actor is the son of the original Gomez in the latter: Sean Astin, father of whom was John. -
