Build guide for v2/v3 in the Gridfinity Box - Lemmy.World
</a>
</h5>
<p class="card-text line-clamp-3">Note: For every screw on the box and pen, you’ll want M3x5 or #4 - 1/4,
depending on which size is available to you. #6 - 1/2 screws work a little
better for the foot pedal, but you could get away with M3x10. Wrap a wire over
each end of the battery holder and attach the battery holder to the box
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/33e54fc8-5738-402b-a3a8-95d0c34df390.jpeg]
Solder the wires to the B+ and B- places on the charge/boost board, and adjust
the trimmer pot to give 15-16v. Ignore the 18v in the picture, that’s a little
too spicy.

Once you have the voltage set, remove the battery for safety and remove the wire
from the positive side of the battery holder. To prevent the battery from slowly
draining, you’ll want in connect the positive side to the power switch, then
from the switch to the charge/boost board. Solder the necessary components on
the board. V2 values can work with what the board is labeled, plus a 500k
potentiometer, 100k variable resistor for the timer, and 20k for the current
.Note these important replacements if you’re working with a V3: R4 -&gt; 220k R7 -&gt;
47k R9 -&gt; nothing, jumper it R11 -&gt; 4.7k C1 -&gt; 100uf

Note the orientation of the variable resistor knobs when you solder them to
their wires. For V2, have them pointing out from the top of the board. For V3,
have them pointing out from the bottom. If you find they’re backwards from what
you’d like, switch the left and right wires.

Install the panel components in the lid.
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/c551a36b-ad18-46f4-9b17-4a3f0eceecb5.jpeg]
Install the board in the box. For models with a speaker, secure the speaker as
well.
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/0103ed0d-2756-4331-8bdd-e765f9134e50.jpeg]
Solder the wires from the board to their panel components. It’s helpful to
connect the anode to the red socket and the probe to the black. This will save
confusion, because the anode is the positive side while the probe is negative.
Push the variable resistors through their holes and LEDs through their holes.
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/29ef363d-af40-423c-9cc0-18e09dd97ada.jpeg]
Screw the lid to the box.
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/14ba4fab-66fa-4ed0-a70b-53d7f5da4752.jpeg] For
the foot pedal, push your wire through the openings on the pedal and mono plug.
Solder the connections on the mono plug, and attack ring connectors to the pedal
side.
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/29bffb9d-ed48-4a94-877f-3040b2f1859e.jpeg]
Insert screws through the pedal from the outside and secure the ring connector
with a nut.
